On 20th June 2015, an unexpected visit of some alumni members of AVM awaited the students of classes 11 and 12. The three alumni of Class of 2014: Yashbhai Roongta, Amanbhai Gadia and Shubhambhai Patel, gave us a surprise visit! They had come not only to meet the teachers and visit the campus but also to share with us their experiences and information about what they were doing and how life was at their respective campuses.

Fortunately, with the grace of God and due to their hard work, all the three study in some of the best colleges of India. Yashbhai studies BSc Finance at NMIMS, Mumbai and also works as a Financial Adviser at Jhunjhunwala’s Finance in Mumbai. He advises entrepreneurs, who want to start a new business, and is also the South Mumbai City Mayor with the Entrepreneur Café group. One of the important things that Yashbhai emphasised on was that “one should never be afraid of failures as better opportunities are always there somewhere down the line”. He was rejected by many companies where he had applied for an internship, but still did not give up. He kept trying and eventually got an internship offer! He progressed at his firm and now is a Franchisee Partner there and most of the companies which had rejected his applications earlier, now take advice from him! He conveyed to all that if God gave us failures, we shouldn’t feel bad about them because He has a better plan for us ahead.

Following Yashbhai’s talk, Amanbhai enlightened us with his experiences at the BITS Pilani – Goa campus. He shared with us his journey of preparing for different entrance exams and guided us with the necessary approach for these exams. He also told us about the BITS campus and about the teachers and the system there. He shared with us the real advantage that he had there because of having studied at AVM, during which he had learnt self-control and importance of working hard. Listening to Amanbhai was very heartening for us as we too share the advantage of being at AVM like him!

Then followed our dear Shubhambhai who is presently studying at the Jindal Global Law School, Haryana. He explained to us that Law was not just what one typically thought of i.e. to become people who wear black coats and do attestation of documents outside a court building. He gave us a broader view of different career options possible in the field of Law. He guided us how to interact with the professors and other university/college officials and highlighted to us the importance of Swamiji’s instruction of “keeping company of good friends”. His talk also inspired us further to study more and better.

To listen to our senior brothers was a great experience as it gave us a glimpse into how our lives could be after our 12th board examination. It is a matter of pride for AVM to have graduated such prodigious students who strive to be good citizens of the world. The teachers were quite glad to see them and the students were thankful to them for their visit and them sharing their experiences with us.
