Atmiya Vidya Mandir’s Under-14 Football team had an amazing opportunity to participate in the Khel Mahakumbh Tournament held at AMNS International School, Hazira, on February 5th and 6th, 2024.
Preparation for the tournament saw the budding footballers of the U-14 team honing their skills under the expert guidance of AVM’s coaching staff. Competing in inter-school tournaments, especially in a new venue, presented both excitement and challenges for our team.
Nineteen prominent schools from the Surat rural area participated in this prestigious district-level competition. With the blessings of Guruhari Swamishree, our team delivered outstanding performances throughout the event.
The first match pitted AVM against the Millennium A team from Millennium School. The Atmiyans secured a convincing victory with two well-executed goals while keeping a clean sheet.
Advancing to the quarter-finals, our team triumphed over Tapti Valley team with a score of 3-0. Despite a narrow defeat in the semi-finals against the home team, AMNS International School, our players displayed commendable skill and determination.
Fortunately, the U-14 team could end the tournament on a high note by securing third place in a dominant fashion, defeating Mount Litera Zee School with an impressive scoreline of 4-0.
The experience of participating in the Khel Mahakumbh Tournament was truly enriching and inspiring for all involved, leaving lasting memories. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our football coaches, school administration, the host school, and all participating schools for facilitating such a remarkable experience.
