At Atmiya Vidya Mandir, it is emphasized that students should be intellectually, culturally and academically excellent, hence, it provides ample opportunities to the students to shine in sports activities. Whether it is a field or track event, students at AVM are trained to develop their strength, agility and stamina. Hence, they are prepared to be fit and competitive in all sporting events. Opportunely, AVM athletics have recently participated in one of its kind of sports carnival organized by CBSE.

The CBSE Cluster XIII – U-14 Athletics Competition is a stage where athletes of different schools from around Gujarat manifest their hidden talent in athletics events like 100m Dash, 200m Dash, 800m, Shot Put Throw and Long Jump. This sports carnival allows the participating athletes to showcase their skills and flair. This year, the event was held at Laxmi Vidyapeeth, Sarigam (Valsad). Atmiya Vidya Mandir also participated in the Under-14 category of this competition.

The opening ceremony of the event was quite remarkable with the presence of the best athletes who arrived from different schools of the state. In the first series of events of this competition, AVM athletes: Devinsinh Solanki (grade 7), Ronit Choudhary (grade 7), Sahaj Rohit (grade 9) and Tanish Madaliya (grade 8), participated in the Long Jump, 800m Marathon, 100m Dash and Shot-Put Throw events respectively. With Swamishree’s grace and AVM coaches’ efforts, each of the athletes qualified for the finals. Ronit Bhai also won a Bronze medal in the 800m Marathon with his relentless efforts. In addition to this, Sahaj Bhai secured 4th position in the 100m Dash finishing it in an astonishing time of 13.6 seconds. Tanish Bhai displayed his skill with the Shot-Put with a fantastic throw of 8.28m. Devin Bhai floated in the air with a commendable jump of 3.64m, ending up in 9th position. The competition was an extraordinary event as it provided ample opportunities for the athletes to observe and learn from one another.

Thus, after an amazing display of their skills in this Athletics Competition, AVM athletes returned home with a learning experience and a medal which added one more feather in the crown of Atmiya Vidya Mandir.
