At Atmiya Vidya Mandir the students are offered a wide variety of sports activities which enable them to discover their hidden talents and enhance their skills in different sports activities and games. When students get a chance to play inter house, inter school or other such type of competition, these competitions further sharpen and refine their skills in games. One such opportunity for AVM students was to participate in the District Level Table Tennis Competition. It allowed the students a chance to not only showcase their skills and represent school, but also provided them exposure to play outside the school boundary.

On 26th August 2023, the students of Under 14, 17 and 19 age groups of AVM went to participate in the SGFI District level Table Tennis competition. This tournament was organised by the Tapti Valley International School, Surat and to participate in this competition, many schools of Surat city sent their teams.  AVM players also went to take part in this event. They were accompanied by their Table Tennis coach Devang Sir and the Sports in-charge Ritesh Sir, who continued to motivate and encourage AVM players to keep sportsmanship spirit and remain positive. The event began with a warm welcome by sports department of the host school. Soon, the thrilling matches started and the competitors made their best moves to defeat their opponent and bag victory. The matches were often very close, time and again, participants were going into deuce and third sets. As it was a knockout competition, the teams who lost before the semi-finals were declared disqualified.

Thus, this thrilling tournament ended with some spectacular performances. Five students from each winning team were selected for the State level competition. It was a proud moment for Atmiya Vidya Mandir as Veer R. Modi and Advait J. Patel were selected for the Under 19 group and Chaitanya N. Patel was selected as a stand-by for the Under 17 group. Hoping to get such opportunities over and over!
