The CBSE Cluster IX Basketball Tournament 2015-16 was hosted by Gujarat Public School, Vadodara, for the 11th time. The AVM school basketball team also participated in this tournament that was held from 4th November to 7th November 2015.
The first match of our team was on 5th November, against Manav Kendra School, Vadodara. Our school team, coached by Bankim Sir, had a very easy win with a score of 16-04. This helped get our team in rhythm and increased the confidence of all players.
Our second match was in the evening on the same day, against Birla School, Kalyan. Again, with the efforts put in by all team players and of course with the grace of Param Pujya Swamishree, Team AVM managed to win with a score of 27-21.
After having a night stay at Haridham, the team was all charged up for their third match in the morning of 6th November. This turned out to be quite a challenging match for our team and even after playing our level best, it went in favour of the New Era School, Vadodara team, our opponents and ended with a score of 16-23.
This defeat gave all the team members a chance to learn something new and improve our tactics. This tournament will surely help all of us to improve our game to match any competition we face in the future.
