The Royal Game, Chess, as we know is a game for the skilled and the patient.

On the day of 28^th July 2018, our school, like every year, participated for the under 15 Inter School Chess Competition. In our school’s team of 4, the participants were Mananbhai, Niravbhai, Nirmanbhai and Mannbhai from grade 9. In all, 22 schools had participated in the competition.

The rules were simple. It was a 4v4 round. 1 win would give you 0 points, 2 wins would give you 1 point and 3 or 4 wins would give you 2 points. In the league stage, we suffered from a slow start but gradually gained pace over the competition.

The first round was against J H Ambani Saraswati Vidya Mandir in which we lost 4-0. Proceeding to the next round, we didn’t lose our hopes and won with a clean sheet 4-0 against C S Vidya Bharti English School. Yet again in the third round, we were outsmarted and lost 3-1 against Hill’s High School.

But we carried on, undeterred, and went on to win again in the fourth round with a score of 3-1 against Delhi Public School, Tapi.

Everyone played their A game, sincerely using their talent and skill. We managed to finish in the 12^th place in the league stage, out of the 22 schools with 4 points.
