Festivities and celebrations are integral part of the childhood days and growing-up years of any child. The Hindu faith system comprises rituals and traditions that are fun-filled and enjoyable. At Atmiya Vidya Mandir, such festivities are celebrated with great enthusiasm and gusto, following Param Pujya Swamishree’s vision of cultivating respect and admiration for Dharm amongst the students at AVM along with their academic grooming.

As the yearly season of festivities began in the auspicious Hindu month of ‘Shravan’, with one or the other festival approaching almost every other week, it was no wonder that the much-acclaimed festival of Janmashtami brought sheer joy and excitement among students at the AVM campus.

Celebrated every year with unmatched energy and enthusiasm, marking the birth anniversary of Bhagwan Krishn, Atmiya Vidya Mandir also partook in the celebrations with the ceremonial aarti of Shri Radha Krishn in the temple premises in the evening of this auspicious day.

As the clock struck 9:30 in the night, students from the school premises proceeded towards the temple to gather for the night celebrations marking the auspicious time of the incarnation of Bhagwan Krishn into the world. The excellent choir from the junior classes presented a mesmerizing and soulful bhajan singing to the lyrics “Nand gher anand bhayo, Jay Kanaiya Lal ki’, elevating the entire mood to one of spiritual devotion and rejuvenation.

After this musical offering, everyone presented in the prayer hall readied for the momentous aarti of Shree Thakorji on this pious occasion. The rhythms of aarti playing alongside the periodic claps reverberated throughout the entire prayer hall, ushering in a feeling of synchronized devotion and exaltation of the newly born bal-gopal Krishn.

Even as the celebrations ended, the festive mood lingered and ushered in a renewed sense of gusto and enthusiasm in the entire AVM family, as they returned to their daily activities with the loving memory of Bhagwan Krishn and His beautiful glory.
