“Union of Body, Mind and Soul”, is the motto with which Param Pujya Swamishree has built Atmiya Vidya Mandir. His vision is that students graduating from Atmiya Vidya Mandir must be spiritually robust, unparalleled in academics, and skilled in sports. ‘The graduating students will be an inspiration to thousands of people’ is the vision of Swamiji, so they can contribute and serve for the betterment and protection of Sanatan Dharm, society, and our country. The momentous occasion of bidding adieu to the senior brothers was an event of revisiting the most cherishing memory of their life at AVM. Dedicated teachers, enterprising students, and supporting staff coordinated with one another to make it a grand farewell for the 12th graduating batch of AVM.

It all started with meticulous planning for this programme. A brief meeting was called to decide on an overview of the event and the theme of the function. Thereafter, the students of 11th grade made different groups within the batch, as per their area of expertise and interest. There was constant support and guidance from mentors and teachers for the preparation of this programme. They all started to work on the theme of a rocket launching station. Each team had their own challenges to face. The dance team had to choreograph the entire dance themselves, while the decoration team had to build rocket models along with the background setup. Hosts had to speak flawlessly without any support from the script. While each of the groups had many challenges, the teachers and mentors guided them in every phase of preparation to make the function marvellous and flawless. On 16th April 2023, the ambience of the school prayer hall was based on the theme of a rocket launching station. The rockets (students) were ready to be launched once all the checkpoints (values) given by the scientists (teachers and saints) were checked.

The senior students along with their family were welcomed with gifts and at the entrance, there was a setup of a photo booth to catch the moments through cameras. Then the distinguished guests, honourable principal Vijay Sir, and trustees of the school were welcomed and escorted. The hosts of the programme Vedant Bhai and Ketul Bhai invited Pranshu Bhai and Anand Bhai for the poojan of Thakorji to commence the event and then Kavi Bhai, Head Boy of the school, presented a bouquet to the trustees. After that, the hosts started the program by discussing the body of the rocket, which symbolizes the company of good friends, and was the first checkpoint for the final launch. They meant to say “Just as the body of the rocket must be strong to fight against the uncertainties of outer space, similarly, we must be surrounded by the body of good friends, who not only save us from distractions but also help and guide us to achieve our goal”. It was followed by a mesmerizing musical tribute by Nirlep Bhai and Sarjak Bhai, enveloped with the precious memories of their senior brothers in the school.

As the program continued, the hosts showcased a checklist for the symbolic propulsion system. A propulsion system facilitates a rocket to move smoothly through air and space by producing thrust. Likewise, the sincere hard work of the students helps them to thrive against all the odds and achieve the unachievable. The Haridarshan (media) team then showed the glimpses of hard work of the students, which included relentless efforts of the teachers and students for the preparation of their board exams.

The importance of prayers in life was well explained through the analogy of fuel which is very essential for rocket launching, similarly bhajan with earnest prayers is a very essential checkpoint to overcome any challenge that students may face in their lives. Then Sujal Bhai, on behalf of the graduating batch conveyed gratitude through a heartfelt speech.

The next set of hosts were Nirlep Bhai and Pearl Bhai who took over the stage to conduct a swift test for the remaining checkpoints for the rocket launching. Now the stage was set for a samvaad titles ‘Jeevan ek Sangram’, prepared by students of grade 11 under the guidance of teachers. This skit was based on true events of AVM alumni, but was portrayed by the character of Atmiya Bhai. After this heart-touching skit, it was time to witness real-life accounts of Yathansh Bhai Joshi (AVM Class of 2018) and Shivam Bhai Patel (AVM Class of 2016) who narrated their college experiences which described, how holding firmly onto the values and ethics instilled by AVM helped them to remain extraordinary and always on the top.

The witty hosts then presented yet another analogy of an important part of the rocket which is the fins. Fins, located on either side of a rocket, help it to remain stable in times of turbulence. Likewise, in this world full of materialistic pursuits and a tempestuous sea of negativity, a true bond with saints and teachers can act as fins to apply balance during adverse situations. Moreover, how the guidance system of the rocket plays a vital role in controlling it during manoeuvres and prevents it from taking detours from its destination. Similarly, the weekly sabha or online spiritual meetings help students to reach their destination without any diversion. In order to add some flavour and zest to the programme, there was a mesmerizing self-choreographed dance show presented by students.

After this, everyone was overwhelmed with joy to have Param Pujya Swamiji’s video darshan on the big screen. The last part of the programme included pearls of wisdom by Pujya Fuvaji and respected Vijay Sir who explained how AVM students are different from the rest of the world. Vijay Sir reminded students to remain a pioneer in their field by being righteous and spiritually strong.

At last, all the hosts took over the stage and once again highlighted the checklist for a safe launch of the rockets to fly into space, symbolising that the graduating batch with their wings spread were now ready to take ‘UDAAN’ to soar new heights!
