The bright day of 4th April 2016 was awaiting the first book review of the term, on “The Magic of Thinking Big” by David J. Schwartz. Four students from class 12 Commerce: Manav Patel, Abhishek Patel, Param Patel and Yashraj Gohil presented the review in the school auditorium at 2 pm. It was attended by many teachers and students of classes 11th and 12th.

The book describes ways on how to think big and become successful. The first three chapters of the book are about believing in yourself, curing yourself of the failure disease of giving excuses and how to build confidence and destroy fear. The next three chapters guided the audience on how to dream creatively and to be your true self. The other quarter of the book talked about how to manage your environment and how to shape the right attitude. The last quarter of the book was about taking the first step and getting up whenever you fail because failures are the stepping stones towards success. It also consisted tips on how to become a good leader.

As a part of the book review project the team was asked to make an alternative cover page of the book. And they came up with a cover page which included some of the great people who are successful because of their Big Thinking.

Everyone who attended learned many things from the session. The success was possible only because of the never-give-up spirit of the team, constant hard work of teachers, support of the class and earnest prayers.

After the book review session, everyone departed the auditorium with a determination of becoming the next big thinker.

At the very end of the session, Vijay Sir advised the team members on how to cultivate the habit of reading. The team members left the auditorium with firm determination to get on with the next book to read.

Fighting Struggles Bravely
The book review was the output of many struggles like redrafting speeches number of times, editing the presentation, practising speaking speeches many a times and many more. We could only overcome this struggle and the fear of public speaking because of the two most important pillars of this book review project: Purvesh Sir and Prajval Sir. They spent countless hours on reviewing our speeches and presentation. This book review project proved to be a proof of concept given in the book that team work always wins.
