In terms of popularity, football has no competition on the face of globe. People consider football much more than just a game, they call it an obsession, a way of life, and a religion. Football is a truly global sport. Considering that AVM is a home to students from many different nationalities, it is only normal that this most popular game is played and followed with such an enthusiasm. It is no exaggeration to say that the Annual Inter House Football Competition was one of the most awaited events here at AVM. It was a week-long carnival of joy and thrill which redefined the ambience of the entire school.

Despite their young age, our young brothers of the Sub-Junior group showed some very impressive skills. In the end, after some spectacular game play, the Orange Army (Suhradam House) stood undefeated.

The most nail-biting and heart stopping matches were played in the Junior group. In the finals, the battle was between the House of Truth (Satyam House) and the House of Prosperity (Shivam House). It could only be described as a clash of titans as both teams were evenly matched. Each team conceded a goal drawing the match into the penalties, and eventually the Golden Penalty. And as the well-known saying goes “Truth Prevails.” Satyam House snatched the victory.

Throughout this football carnival, the most memorable match, without question, would definitely be the Senior group finals. Throughout the game, the players made countless crosses, astonishing attempts, dazzling defences, and stunning saves keeping the audience ever on their toes. But just as it was thought that the penalties would be inevitable, luck struck like lightening and Shivam House found themselves victorious by a goal.

Following that came the much-awaited award ceremony that seemed a fitting end to this jovial carnival. After speaking a bit on glory of football, Tarun Sir declared the results, Shivam House stood first for the third time in a row followed by Satyam on second and Sundaram and Suhradam sharing third place.
