A team of 13 athletes from Atmiya Vidya Mandir recently competed in the U-14, U-17 & U-19 CBSE Cluster Athletics Meet 2024-25, Gujarat. Three earned silver medals: Bhoolku Ronitbhai (U-14) in the 800m race, Bhoolku Aatmanbhai (U-19) in the 1500m race, and Bhoolku Yugbhai (U-19) in javelin throw, securing them spots in the CBSE National Athletics Meet (2024-25) in Varanasi, a first for AVM in over a decade.
The athletes began their journey on October 4th, reaching Sant Atulanand Convent School after a 25-hour train ride. The grand opening ceremony celebrated India’s cultural diversity, and AVM’s athletes proudly joined the march past, carrying their school flag.
The events commenced on October 6th. Aatmanbhai competed in the U-19 1500m, while Yugbhai participated in the U-19 Javelin Throw, both giving their best amidst very tough competition. On October 11th, Ronitbhai represented AVM in the U-14 800m race, finishing just outside medal positions. The team returned home on October 13th, enriched by the experience.
Though they didn’t bring home medals, the athletes’ reflections spoke volumes: “We learned the importance of humility, resilience, and growth. There’s always someone stronger, and success requires continuous effort and adaptation.”
