During the Rakshabandhan break, the U14 and U17 basketball teams of Atmiya Vidya Mandir participated in the West Zone CBSE Cluster XIII Basketball Championship, held at Gujarat Public School, Atladara, Vadodara, from 10th to 14th August 2025.
The U14 team received a bye in the first round. Their first match was played the next afternoon at 3:00 PM against Navrachana Sama School, Vadodara. The boys displayed great enthusiasm and sportsmanship, giving their best effort on the court. Though the match ended with a score of 11–28, the team gained valuable exposure and experience.
The U17 team faced Bhavkunj School, Kadi (Mehsana) in their opening match at 10:30 AM. It was an intense and closely fought game, where our players played with full energy and determination. Despite their spirited performance, the team narrowly lost with a score of 26–30.
Even though both teams could not progress further in the tournament, the experience was extremely enriching. The matches taught the players important lessons about teamwork, strategy, and resilience. The boys also identified areas where they can improve, and they are motivated to work harder so that they can come back stronger in future competitions.
We are confident that with continued effort and practice, our teams will bring more success to our school in the coming years.
