The Atmiya Athletic Meet is, without a doubt, the most eagerly awaited event of the year for students across all standards. It isn’t just about stepping out of our classrooms; it’s about the unmatched excitement, the joy of pushing our limits, and making memories that last a lifetime.

The 21st Atmiya Athletic Meet (2025–26) was a massive success, but behind the glory lay the dedicated effort of the entire “Atmiya Family.” From the sports coaches to academic teachers, and from the security personnel to the dining staff, everyone contributed wholeheartedly to make this event a masterpiece.

The Build-Up: Transforming the Campus

Although the meet itself lasts for three and a half days, the preparation began weeks in advance. Our sports teachers worked meticulously to transform our campus into what felt like a mini “Olympic Village.” The tracks were perfectly marked, the arenas beautifully decorated, and every detail − from record sheets to the medal ceremony − was planned to raise our excitement to the highest level.

We students had a huge role to play, too! To ensure we were at our peak, our coaches designed a rigorous four-week training schedule.

  • We balanced our regular academic classes with daily training sessions to improve our stamina and technique.
  • Practice for the opening ceremony often overlapped with athletic training, requiring serious time management.
  • Despite the hard work, it never felt like a burden. It was a journey of teamwork and enthusiasm where we learned that preparation is just as fun as the main event.

The Grand Opening

When the big day finally arrived, the campus was buzzing with anticipation. The ceremony began with the arrival of the chief guests, respectfully escorted by the Head Boy, Sports Captain, and House Captains. The sacred poojan of Shree Thakorji by the guests created a spiritual and uplifting atmosphere, setting a positive tone for the days ahead.

The highlight for many of us was the Walk Past. Students from Grade 7 to 12 walked with synchronized steps and perfect coordination, showcasing our unity. Following this, the audience was left amazed by spectacular performances including:

  • Ring activities
  • Human Pyramids
  • Yoga and Gymnastics
  • A traditional Laathi drill

Our respected Principal, Dr. Vijay Patel, addressed us on the theme “We Are One!”, inspiring us to compete with love and unity. The event was officially declared open after the school and house flags were hoisted, and the main torch was lit by Devang Sir alongside last year’s “Lionhearted Best Athletes.”

Three Days of Adrenaline

The competition itself was intense and unforgettable. This year, the stakes were raised with the introduction of a new event − the 4 × 100m relay for Group B − and the shot-put weights were increased to match CBSE cluster standards.

  • Day 1: Kicked off with heats for the 100m, 200m, 400m, and field events. We saw many athletes pushing beyond their known limits.
  • Day 2: The competition grew tougher with intense semi-finals.
  • Day 3 & 4: These days were reserved for the finals. Athletes fought fiercely, with victories often decided by mere milliseconds and centimetres, keeping everyone on the edge of their seats.

Victory in Unity

While medals and records are important, the true spirit of the meet was found in the sidelines. The most heart-touching sight was seeing students cheer for each other’s victories and support friends during losses. Even those who didn’t stand on the podium showed immense improvement and determination. In that sense, we all won.

We cannot thank the school management, Dr. Vijay Patel, the tireless Physical Education Department, and our mentors enough. Their vision and hard work gave us an experience engraved in our minds forever.

We are already counting down the days to next year!
