After their remarkable victory at the district level, the Atmiya Vidya Mandir U-17 Football team earned the proud opportunity to present Surat Rural at the state level Subroto Mukerjee Cup held in Rajkot. Competing against some of the best teams from across Gujarat, our young players displayed extraordinary teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship throughout the tournament.

The tournament commenced with great enthusiasm and determination.

In the first match, Atmiya Vidya Mandir triumphed over Dahod City team with a score of 2-0. Both the goals came through quick counterattacks and excellent coordination between midfield and forwards.

The second match against Ahmedabad City also ended in our favour, with another 2-0 victory, thanks to our solid defence and precise finishing.

In the third match our team faced a tough opponent, SAG (Sports Academy of Gujarat) and despite a spirited performance, lost the match. However, the players fought till the last whistle, showing true sporting valour.

A special mention goes to our coaches, Swadesh Sir and Mahesh Sir, whose constant motivation, tactical planning and belief in the players played a crucial role in the team’s success. Their focus on discipline and teamwork was clearly reflected in every match.

Unfortunately, some key players of the Atmiya team sustained injuries while giving their best at the district level. This restricted them from playing at the state level. Though the team lacked its key players, it managed to give a tough competition to some of the best football teams from across Gujarat.

Though the journey concluded before the finals, the state-level experience was an unforgettable chapter in the students’ sporting journey. Competing with talented teams from across Gujarat taught them the values of perseverance, teamwork and humility. The exposure they gained at this level will serve as a strong foundation for future tournaments.

The Atmiya Vidya Mandir family takes immense pride in the team’s performance. Their dedication and passion have set a new benchmark for school sports excellence.
