The logo of Atmiya Vidya Mandir encapsulates school’s motto – ‘Union of Body, Mind and Soul’ and all co-curricular activities in the school revolve around accomplishing it. A small duration of meditation is an integral part of the school’s daily assembly. In this manner, along with academic excellence and physical fitness, students are given regular practice to achieve mental relaxation. Apropos of this routine, Atmiya Vidya Mandir has celebrated the International Day of Yoga. The freshness and brightness emitted by the sunrise seem to be multiplied in the school’s prayer hall on 21st June 2022–as the students and all sports teachers gathered to celebrate International Yoga Day. The sports team of the school, led by Ritesh Sir, helped the students performing Pranayams and Yogasanas. With the guidance of Hemant Sir and Ritesh Sir, the keen students learnt to make correct posture for Trikonasana (Triangle Pose), Bhujangasana (Snake Pose), Gaumukhasana(Cow Pose), Naukasana(Boat Pose). The coordination and efforts put on by the students to achieve the perfect pose were impeccable.

Apart from performing these Yogasanas, students were also trained to exercise in the correct postures of Surya Namaskar–an ancient practice of harmonising the mind and the body. The mind-relaxing breathing exercise and Pranayam like Anulom- Vilom and Kapalbhati were also practised by the students in the guidance of Hemant Sir. It was inevitably clear that students have become aware through this day about the unifying force of yoga for holistic wellness and acknowledged benefits of Yoga for every age group. As the title suggests, the Yoga has become a necessity in the fast-pacing world and expeditious life-style.
