With the golden hue of a clear winter morning enveloping the nicely decorated area, Atmiya Vidya Mandir’s campus looked picture perfect on 26th January 2018.  The tricolour ribbon boundary and the fluttering school flags across all corners offered a ceremonial air to the venue of the programme. Amid this pomp and pageantry, members of Atmiya Vidya Mandir family gathered at the school’s football ground to celebrate the 69th Republic day.  The host of the programme, Mukesh Sir, began by setting the audience tuned into a patriotic fervour as he elucidated the significance of the day. Then all eyes got fixed on entrance of the arena as Chief Guest arrived escorted by the members of student council.

The programme started with inviting the guests to perform Thakorji’s Poojan (the ceremonial ritual of invoking God’s blessings for the smooth running of the event). After which the Sports Co-ordinator Ritesh Sir assisted the Chief Guest for flag hoisting ceremony. Soon after the school campus reverberated with melodies of the flag song – Jhanda ucha rahe hamara… while everybody saluted the national flag with reverence. Later, the student council members were called to honour the guests with bouquets. Next, there was yet another spectacular show of March Past by the students of Satyam, Shivam, Sundaram and Suhradam Houses, who were marching in unison with synchronised swing of arms and feet. It was followed by an impressive speech by Kamlesh sir who urged the students to pay a heartiest tribute to the freedom fighters and founding fathers of our constitution.

Followed by this was the most awaited moment when the students, who participated and won in CBSE Cluster Sports Tournament were called on the stage to collect their certificates. Next to this, a series of awards were announced for the winners of inter-house competitions for different co-curricular activities including debate, dance, singing etc for the academic year 2017-18. Receiving the loudest cheers and applause, it was the most distinctive and remarkable honour and accolade to the school as Aayush Sagar of 11th commerce received a certificate for his outstanding performance in a national level Pi-Quiz which was organised by IIM Indore. After these extended minutes of exuberance and applause for the awardees, the spirited and elated hearts waited eagerly to listen to the words of wisdom from Vijay Sir, the School Principal. It was a remarkably soul-stirring and inspirational speech wherein he motivated students to contribute in the progress of the nation by maintaining healthy habits and academic advancement at individual level.

Thus, this action-packed ceremony ended with singing of National Anthem. At dispersal, besides sweets, everybody had something more to take along – something inexplicably inspiringsense of dignity and pride and silent pledges to act upon Vijay Sir’s words.
