Learning is more effective when books and real-life experiences go hand in hand. At AVM, students get to learn from alumni who share their journeys and inspire them to aim higher. In line with this cherished tradition, 23rd August 2025 witnessed an insightful interactive session with Purva Bhai, a distinguished AVM alumnus from the Batch of 2013, currently based in the U.S.A.

The session took place from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the school auditorium and was attended by students from Grades 11 and 12. Returning to his alma mater as an achiever, Purva Bhai’s enthusiasm and warmth were evident throughout the interaction. Notably, he is the first AVM alumnus to carve out a professional path in the field of education, making his return all the more special and meaningful. His journey − from earning his Bachelor’s degree at SRM University in India to pursuing his Master’s at New York University − was filled with rich learning experiences.

The session was structured around two themes: his personal and professional journey, and his insights on what today’s evolving society demands from students. He fondly recalled his school days, crediting AVM for nurturing his early passion for Mathematics, which later led him to a career in Mechatronics. Purva Bhai’s commitment extended beyond academic and career goals − his experiences reflected not just academic progression, but also personal growth, challenges, and the importance of staying curious and open-minded. He generously offered practical advice and real-world insights, urging students to keep their curiosity alive. He emphasized that asking questions, no matter how small, is essential for learning and growth. According to him, curiosity is the foundation for innovation, understanding, and self-improvement.

One of the key messages he conveyed was a heartfelt reminder of how privileged we all are to be part of AVM, an institution that goes beyond academics by fostering discipline, resilience, moral values, and strong character. He spoke candidly about the uncertainties and pressures that await in the outside world, and how the grounding provided at AVM plays a crucial role in facing them with strength and confidence.

The session concluded on a thought-provoking note, leaving the audience with his resonant takeaway message: ‘Never leave your questions unanswered, for curiosity is the path to growth and understanding.’
