On the morning of 25th October 2024, the AVM and Swastik teams organized a unique and engaging event for the school’s XI and XII grade students. Held in the school’s Lab-4 from 8:30 am to 11:30 am, the session provided students with a hands-on learning experience about stock trading and decision-making.

The students were divided into 20 teams, each consisting of two members. The event began with the distribution of infographics featuring 10 major companies. Each team was given a starting amount of 6 lakhs in virtual currency, with 3 lakhs in cash and the remaining 3 lakhs in equity shares. Throughout the session, the teams participated in around 10 main sessions, each triggered by a news update displayed on a projector. Based on the news, teams had to analyze the situation and decide whether to buy or sell shares of the companies they were tracking.

Each session began with teams reviewing the news, discussing strategies, and then making decisions to buy or sell shares. They filled out their choices on Google Forms, which were then processed by the technical team. The transactions were finalized after a 5-minute window, and the updated share prices were announced, which could either benefit or negatively impact the teams’ portfolios. The ups and downs of these sessions brought moments of joy and disappointment as the teams worked through their strategies.

The entire event was closely monitored via a specially developed integrated system by the Swastik Education team. The transactions were recorded on Google Forms, and the portfolios were automatically updated, allowing students to track their progress through a live Google Spreadsheet.

In the end, as is customary in any competition, only one team could emerge victorious. The team of Neel Bhai Zadafiya (XII) and Akshar Bhai Hariya (XI), took first place with a net value of 7 lakhs and 40 thousand. They were closely followed by the team of Advait Bhai Patel (XI) and Pankaj Bhai Bhakta (XII), who ended with a net value of 7 lakhs and 26 thousand.

The success of the event was made possible thanks to the efforts of Jayant Sir, Rahul Sir, and Balkishan Sir from the Swastik Education team, along with Dharmpal Sir, Sandip Sir, and Purvesh Sir from the AVM team. Their guidance and support provided the students with an enriching educational experience, teaching them valuable lessons through the game of stock trading.

This is most likely a TimThumb permissions error.

Go to the Justified Image Grid settings, TimThumb & CDN tab. Click check permissions then click 0755 or 0777 to see if that works (or do it manually via FTP, on the files and folders it lists there in case chmod fails). You can disable TimThumb with the 'Use TimThumb' setting and the option 'No'.
