The development of honesty is one of the most valuable foundations of character. It shapes not only how children think but also how they act when faced with real-life choices. With this purpose in mind, Atmiya Vidya Mandir organised the “Honesty Intelligence” competition, encouraging students to recognise honest choices and reflect on their importance.

Students from each of the four houses were grouped by standard, and each group participated in age-appropriate activities designed to help them understand honesty in a practical, meaningful way.

Standards 1 to 3

For the youngest group, events included “Honesty Story Detectives,” where the enthusiastic participants listened to a short story and identified the honesty problem, determining what the character should have done and why that choice mattered. They also took part in the “Honesty Role-Play Challenge,” performing one-minute skits to show honesty in action. In the third activity “Illustration Consequences” each house received a worksheet portraying various choices. They identified and separated the honest acts from the dishonest ones within the illustrations and elucidated their reasoning.

Standards 4 to 6

The participants from Standards 4 to 6 collaborated in this session with high enthusiasm.

Round 1 (Role-Play): Students picked a situation from a chit, planned for five minutes, and performed their role-play in the subsequent five minutes.

Round 2 (Poster Making): Each house received chart paper to design a poster based on honesty, crafting a slogan and decorating it accordingly.

Round 3 (Honesty Quiz): This was conducted in four stages: multiple-choice questions, true/false, situation-based questions, and a rapid-fire round. All three rounds saw lively participation, with students demonstrating clear thinking and creativity.

Standards 7 and 8

The cohort from Standards 7 and 8 showed their mettle in two challenging activities: the “Right Choice Challenge,” which tested their ability to judge honest options in tricky situations, and the “Courageous Character Test,” where they explored how honesty often requires courage and personal responsibility.

Standards 9 and 10

The secondary scholars of Standards 9 and 10 set the tone with high engagement, making their way through two reflective rounds of ethical navigation.

Round 1: A set of quiz-based questions, including multiple-choice items and self-assessment questions prompting students to reflect on their moral trajectory.

Round 2: A Skit Performance where these adolescent learners enacted scenarios demonstrating how honesty influences decisions and outcomes. The students showed maturity and thoughtful interpretation of the themes.

Across all groups, two students from each standard and each house represented their teams. Their enthusiasm, clarity of thought, and willingness to openly discuss the value of honesty made the event especially meaningful.

The aim of the competition was not only to test knowledge but to help students internalise honesty as a lifelong habit—choosing what is right even when no one is watching. The activities sparked reflection, teamwork, and plenty of heartfelt discussions. Overall, the Honesty Intelligence Competition proved to be a memorable experience, leaving a positive impression on the students and the entire Atmiya family.
