The 20th Atmiya Athletic Meet (AAM) at Atmiya Vidya Mandir was an extraordinary celebration of sportsmanship, unfolding from January 7 to 10, 2025. The event was the result of weeks of careful planning and tireless effort by our dedicated sports teachers, but most importantly, it reflected the hard work and determination of our students who trained relentlessly to achieve their personal bests.

The opening ceremony was a captivating beginning to this memorable event. It began with a graceful yoga performance, highlighting the significance of uniting our body, mind and soul to achieve the ultimate. This was followed by a stunning tribute to the Olympic Games, showcasing the remarkable achievements of Indian Olympians who have brought pride to the nation in recent years. Through this performance, the theme of “We are One” was emphasized, reminding us all that success in sports transcends individual effort and celebrates collective unity.

The opening ceremony was graced by the presence of our esteemed guests: Pujya Suhrad Swamiji, Vijay Sir, and Govind Bhai, whose wisdom and encouragement set the tone for the days ahead. Their speeches inspired everyone to embrace the values of hard work, perseverance, and sportsmanship.

This year’s AAM was a remarkable one, with several records shattered in events such as the ball throw, discus throw, 100m, 200m, 400m, 3000m, 5000m, and the triple jump. The bhoolku athletes showcased outstanding performances, pushing themselves to new limits and setting the stage for fierce competition. One of the most memorable moments came during the U-17 high jump final, when Atmiyabhai Sutariya cleared an impressive 1.71 meters, setting a new record and reigniting the excitement of previous high jump events.

Throughout the meet, the guidance of Pujya Suhrad Swamiji, Vijay Sir, and Tarun Sir continued to resonate, reinforcing the connection between athletics and spirituality. Their messages encouraged students to remember that true athletes never give up, regardless of the challenges they face. These insights created a powerful link between sports and life, leaving everyone with valuable lessons in perseverance and unity.

The event concluded with the official closing ceremony, where Vijay Sir declared the meet’s closure, and the flags were lowered by the respective house conveners. The efforts of the organizing team were recognized and honoured, celebrating their commitment to making the event a success. Sundaram House emerged as the well-deserved champions, with Shivam House close behind as the runners-up. The difference between the two houses was a mere two points, a reminder that every effort counts and that one should never give up until the very end.

As this unforgettable three-and-a-half-day celebration came to a close, it left behind cherished memories of outstanding performances, a spirit of unity, and a sense of shared accomplishment. The Atmiya Athletic Meet will forever hold a special place in the hearts of all students, fostering a sense of community and pride that will last for years to come.
