Discipline says, “I need to”,

Duty says, “I ought to”,

Devotion says, “I want to”,

But teachers at Atmiya Vidya Mandir are much more than just being devoted or dedicated.

A teacher is indeed a herald of peace, a harbinger of hope, giver of knowledge and an all-rounder God-sent angel. From good morning to good night, from studies to sports, from everything we have to do to everything we have to do, we have always had a shoulder to lean upon. These individuals, oblivious of the word ‘No’ have never made us feel their absence.

So, in order to reciprocate a tiny bit of their perpetual, immeasurable and humongous time and efforts that they have invested behind us and to express our sense of indebtedness, the students of Atmiya Vidya Mandir celebrated ‘Samarpan’- a tribute to all those who light the way for others.

To begin with, all the students from grades 7 to 12 tried to express their gratitude by creating exceptionally creative hand-made cards for their teachers with commendable vigour and fervour. In addition to this, all the students gave an individual promise to their teachers. Furthermore, all the students firmly decided to follow teachers’ instructions, to strike friendship with at least one teacher and to reflect upon only the virtues of others.

Samarpan – the most awaited function was celebrated with remarkable zeal and joy by the young tiny tots for their beloved teachers on 5th September 2019 in the beautifully decorated, kaleidoscopic Atmiya Prarthana Hall.

As per the enriching tradition at Atmiya Vidya Mandir, poojan of Shri Thakorji marked the commencement of the grand function. Next, the audience was astonished by a wild-card entry of two astronauts from space. One astronaut introduced AVM to the other and emphasised upon the speciality of the school and what makes an AVM teacher unique. Moving further, the students and teachers were given a glimpse of Swamishree’s divine vision and immense, relentless efforts behind Atmiya Vidya Mandir.

Our schedule at Atmiya Vidya Mandir would have remained just a blueprint if not for the constant and endearing efforts of our warm-hearted didis and housemasters. Sanmukhbhai and Anshbhai from Std.2, Krishangbhai, Std.3 and Nirmaanbhai, Std.4 came up with an innocent yet spectacular poem with lines “दीदी, कैसे बताऊ, कितने रूप है आपके!” to show their thankfulness to our didis and housemasters. This was followed by a video tribute dedicated to them.

The relationship between a teacher and a student is very unique. It is bereft of expectations, brimming with love and care. The inability to express this by words was overcome with the help of a heart-touching song “Raabta”. Next, to show our appreciation for our Language, Social Science and Commerce teachers, a video tribute was presented.

After the tribute, the time had come to present a specially-made card for the captain of our ship, Vijay Sir. Further, a video tribute was presented to acknowledge and appreciate the efforts of our CS, Library, Mathematics and Science teachers. In order to further add liveliness to the function, Manish Sir and his team surprised everyone with a performance on the life story of Sachin Tendulkar and his coach Shri Achrekar Sir elucidating a teacher’s role in students’ life.

Moving forward in the event, Hariombhai and Devarshibhai from Class XI gave a speech highlighting the mental tapascharya of our teachers. Thereafter, the behind-the-curtain efforts of the ardent support-staff was expressed with next video tribute.

The preliminary part of the function was a students’ tribute video in which all the students created their vote of thanks. Also, it contained the moments and efforts leading to the success of the event. The awe-inspiring function came to an end with Vijay Sir’s words of wisdom. Endowed with all those faculties that can make the world of education a garden of enchantments, he gave an insightful speech that left an indelible effect on every soul present.

After the programme, all the teachers and staff were presented with their specially-made cards and a gift by the students. Throughout the day, some of the students acted as teachers to their peers.

In a nutshell, the memorable day of 5th September 2019 was enjoyed by everyone to the fullest.
