Param Pujya Swamishree, the founder of Atmiya Vidya Mandir, started this school with the motto of Union of Body, Mind and Soul.  To realize and foster the same in students’ life, the four houses of AVM present various value based creative assemblies during the year, along with value packed academic programs.

On Saturday, 2nd December 2017, Shivam House presented a creative assembly on the “Life and Message of Bhakt Prahlad” with the title ભક્તનો સ્વભાવ છે ભજન કરી આનંદમાં રહેવાનો અને ભગવાનનો સ્વભાવ છે રક્ષા કરવાનો.”

A drama was taken as a medium to illustrate the above value. The story revolved around three different parts: two contemporary parts, and an ancient mythological part. The drama started with Pujainbhai’s and Vivekbhai’s conversation. Pujainbhai was disappointed with his academic performance in spite of his hard work. Vivekbhai his friend, tried to help him understand the importance of prayer along with hard work through the story of Bhakt Prahlad.

To emphasize the importance of prayer, Vivekbhai gave a real-life example of Sahajbhai Lad, an alumnus of AVM (Class of 2016). Being a good and sincere student and despite his hard work, he scored only 70% in his 12th Board exam. Despite this setback, he did not give up on his faith and kept praying and working hard for his college entrance examinations. In spite of scoring average grades in board, he finally got admission in Symbiosis Institute of Computer Studies and Research (Pune), which is considered one of the best colleges in the country for their BCA program. This was possible only because of his unshakeable faith in Swamishree and his sincere hard work and earnest prayers. Finally, Pujainbhai realized that even in the world of cut throat competition and devoid of faith, hard work is always paid off in the end when it is supplemented by earnest prayers. The assembly also consisted of a dance performance of students from 4 to 6 grades to emphasize the relationship between devotee and God.

This creative assembly beautifully served as a platform to witness the synergy between students and teachers. Here students learnt to keep a balance between busy study schedules and the assembly practice. Overall, the assembly was a grand success, a result of team work of Shivam House teachers and students, which involved open hearted suggestions, decision making, managing the stage decoration, performances and shared responsibilities of students and teachers.
