The Qualifier day – A Day for Every Participant

The day after the opening ceremony started warmly, quite literally. The atmosphere was even more warmed up by the rush of adrenaline in every single student present at the athletic meet venue.

The day had brought with it joy for every student and an event for all. Ranging from Ball Throw for U-08 group to 400 metre Finals for the U-17 group, the day had in store just everything for everyone.

The students rejoiced the entire session and cheered every athlete, even if it meant standing on the walkway with the sun directly above their heads!

This was a day of qualifiers, which meant that almost every single student athlete participated in at least one event and contributed to their best.

Thrice the fun, Thrice the thrill, Thrice the events

The next day was equally exciting. It did not seem for a single moment that the excitement had become lukewarm. The day had in store some fantastic semi-finals and finals. Ranging from the 1500 metre semi-finals in the U-17 group to the ring race finals in the U-08 group. The sun had to try it’s all time best to exhaust everyone, but alas, it had to set out for a new tomorrow, in vain.

The students had the first taste of the medal distribution ceremony on this day and they, just like the blazing torch, kept their spirits an all-time high in the distribution ceremony. No amount of coaxing could lure a child to not support the spirit of WE ARE ONE. It rang in every thunderous clap and every loud cheer of the students.

The day of The Finals

The final day started with an excitement that no amount of words can describe aptly. The students were all looking forward to the final events, whether they were finalists or not. Each student rejoiced in everyone’s victory and felt the pangs of losing of every finalist. The final day went on and one had to admit, the events were a showcase of some superior athletic skills and prowess.

The students put in every last bit of their energy to get their house to the top, all the time living up to the motto, WE ARE ONE.

The treat for the day were the Relays where the tides turned for every house and got some unexpectedly fantastic results. There were four 4×100 metre Relays and, one newly introduced, 4×200 metre Relay.

The finals were also the platform where the previously set, seemingly unbreakable records were broken, nay, shattered and shredded and new records were set, raising the bars of expectations even higher, with the hopes that these would surely be unbreakable.

But surely, just like this time, the next meet will see better performances and new records set.
