The Inter House Table Tennis Competition remains a much anticipated event every year at Atmiya Vidya Mandir. This year it was held from 26th July to 30th July 2016.

The participants were divided into three categories as per the following:

  • Sub Junior group from classes 4, 5 and 6
  • Junior group from classes 7 and 8
  • Senior group comprising of students from classes 9, 10 and 11

From each house, four players participated in each of the above categories.

The competition had two types of events:

  1. Individual
  2. Team

The point system used in the competition was:

  • winner gets 10 points
  • second place – 08 points
  • third place – 06 points and
  • fourth place gets 04 points

All the participants underwent rigorous training under the guidance of our school table tennis coach, Devang Sir and our physical education teachers. The results of this hard work were indeed fruitful. For the very first time in the history of inter house table tennis competitions at AVM, Satyam House was crowned champions, winning in all the categories: Sub Junior, Junior and Senior groups.

There were many unexpected victories and defeats in this competition.

In the Individual event, 16 students participated in each category. In the Sub Junior group, Niramay K. Patel of class 6 and Raghav Agrawal, also of class 6, were the finalists from which, eventually, Raghav Agarwal became the champion.

In the Junior group, Dev Bandhiya and Nirmaan Patel, both from class 7, made it to the finals. Nirmaan Patel, who played his best, was the winner in the group.

In the Senior group, Rushay Modi of class 9 and Smith Patel of class 11 paved their way to the finals. And Smith Patel with his fantastic performance was crowned champion in the group.

In the Group event, Satyam House stood a clear winner in all the three groups, followed by Shivam House.

A great experience for all who played and also for all who witnessed the competition!
