Visual-Spatial Intelligence is one out of the eight Multiple Intelligences which demonstrates the ability to imagine things in the surroundings depending upon the individual observations and perceptions. Imparting this insight, Atmiya Vidya Mandir conducted Visual and Spatial competition on 24th Oct 2015. The competition was held grade-wise and house-wise throughout the school.

Grade 1- Clay Modelling

The little kids of grade 1 visualised various shapes in varied colours and designed them from the given clay.

Grade 2- Puzzle Solving

Activity 1 – Students were given a puzzle of human body in which they were asked to place the body parts at their proper places.

Activity 2 – They were given two similar pictures and were asked to spot the difference between two.

Grade 3- Puzzle Solving

A puzzled map of India was given to the students in which they had to arrange the states in their right places. Also, they were given few social terms, which they were asked to find the meanings of from dictionary in the stipulated time period.

Grade 4- Padharo Mare Desh

Each group had to choose one state from India and explain various facts about their respective state with the intention to attract tourists. They could use facts such as native food items, festivals, crops grown, dances, costumes and places of attraction.

Grades 5 & 6- World Trip

An imaginary story was given to the students in which Geronimo Stilton visited different countries. Students were given clues in that story and with the help of an atlas, they were supposed to identify the countries in sequence, mark their routes and identify their flags and locate the same on the given world map.

Grade 7 & 8- Interior Designing

This group was given a brain storming and a practically imaginative task. Students were given chart papers with an outline of a structured building. They were supposed to design the rooms and open area of the house to make it not only look good but also purposeful. Following things were expected to be set into the area drawn: bedroom, kitchen, living room, dining area, store room, bathroom and passages.

Grade 9 & 10- Treasure Hunt

In this game, the participating student players were asked to search for the final hidden clue by following different trail of clues. Teachers tried their best to hide the clues in all the hook and nook of the school corner. But the students accepted the challenge to the best of their faculties and streamed all their thoughts in the right channel and reached their destination successfully.

Thus, the competition ended with great joy for the students and immense satisfaction for the teachers.
