In the era of competitive world, where expression, confidence and eloquence have become a pivotal part of one’s identity, language learning and language acquisition play a major role in helping students to flourish with their soft skills.

At Atmiya Vidya Mandir, every year the verbal intelligence competition is fabulously planned by the team of Language teachers to cater to the practical needs of learners, to make them competent enough to interact with one another and also to enable them to acquire communication skills which an individual uses to inform, to persuade, to explain, to present and to understand information.

Hence, on 1st August 2015, the Interhouse Verbal and Linguistic Intelligence Competition was organized for the students of grade 1 to grade 10. There were different types of linguistic activities for various classes to provide them opportunities to develop an inclination towards language learning.

  • For students of grade 1 to grade 3 various activities were organized through which students were exposed to vocabulary enhancement, poetry recitation with proper intonation and gestures.
  • Crossword puzzles and thematic word power were a few other activities conducted for grades 4th to 6th which presented an opportunity for the students to check their verbal intelligence.
  • Students of grades 7th and 8th played language games to explore different avenues of language learning.
  • Role-plays and skit performances were yet other enthralling activities conducted for grades 9 and 10. Here, the participants presented skits in English on the given topic.

Thus, this series of activities outside the classrooms were intended to emphasize on helping students to fulfil their potential and develop their consciousness towards this mandate of education which is verbal and linguistic aptitude.

As a part of holistic development at AVM, these activities are aimed at training the students to survive and succeed in a cut-throat environment out there in which willingness & efficiency to learn clubbed with impressive communication skills are very well recognized emblems of success.
