Once again an inspiring and fruitful event took place at our school’s auditorium. AVM Alumni of the Class of 2013 gave a pleasant surprise by their visit on July 18. Eight of them: Nikhilbhai Chaudhary, Utsavbhai Choudhary, Agambhai Shah, Anandbhai Kalavadia, Saurabhbhai Biyani and Harshbhai Patel of Commerce and along with them, Manavbhai Patel and Samyakbhai Varia from Science stream joined us. The ninth member who joined us on the day was Abhishekbhai Panchal of Science stream from the Class of 2014.

The session started with Paramrut Sir introducing all these amazing individuals to a very curious audience comprising of students of classes 11 and 12. Nikhilbhai then took the session ahead. He is a 3rd year law student at Jindal Global Law School. He started by sharing the state of uncertainty about his career that he had passed through during his 11th and 12th and later during the time of admissions after 12th. He then talked about his 2 years of experience at JGLS and helped us understand the importance of internships by sharing with us some of his internship experiences. Moving further, he gave us a brief insight about his work with the WTO (World Trade Organisation) and made us aware about some fundamental aspects about WTO, for instance, the representatives of our country at WTO meetings are generally lawyers and economists. He expressed his interest about international trade and how he was stepping forward towards gaining more insight into that field. He further explained or rather shared the benefits of studying at JGLS. He spoke about the eminent faculty who teach there and made us aware about the inter-disciplinary competition which is a very unique feature at JGLS. As a participant of this competition, he was able to meet participants representing different countries. Later he clarified our thinking that studying law not only gives us a career opportunity as a lawyer but also how it can help to become a representative of our country or a politician or even be a very essential part of the corporate world. He shared with us the statistics about the number of Cabinet Members in the Government of India who were actually lawyers by profession before joining politics. He concluded his part by sharing three points that a student of Atmiya Vidya Mandir could continue even after leaving AVM: having a mentor, engaging oneself in some of the other recreation activity in free time (like reading books) and taking good care of health (by not letting oneself loose at the disposal of junk food).

Continuing the session, one by one, the other alumni came in the front and shared their experiences. They further helped us understand the benefit of the environment that we have here at AVM and the approach needed to be successful in their chosen careers.

The session was indeed a very inspiring one and through it we came to know about many things that would absolutely help us all in making the most of the opportunities that God shall present us in our careers ahead.
